- WOODEN: LOYALTY AND BALANCE

Diane,
Here is a great one after all the marriage breakup stories, John Wooden's
Love Letters. It's all about loyalty and balance.

- CALL FOR CHURCH MARRIAGE MINISTRIES

Main reaction I'm seeing to the Al/Tipper, Dog Whisperer divorces, serial
marriages (like Limbaugh's) in many, many email comments is a strong call
for churches to develop and sustain Marriage Ministries. Note that Gary
Chapman will address that in his Thurs night opening keynote and in his
full-day training at Smart Marriages. As will so many at the conference
Richard Albertson and team in a workshop on Marriage Ministries and in an
Adventures of Marriage 2-day post conference training. Mike McManus in his
Community Marriage Policy Roundtables Sat & Sun mornings; and Rick Marks in
his Family/Marriage Ministry Roundtables Fri, Sat, Sun mornings. The list
of sessions tackling this challegne is long. See the FAITH-BASED TRACK

- MY DADDY'S NAME IS DONOR

Hi Diane,
Just saw that you picked up on Michael Cook's article "Orphaned at
Conception." Not quite sure if you saw it yet, but the Institute just
released My Daddy's Name is Donor, which is groundbreaking because it's the
first ever representative study of young adults conceived through sperm
donation. Ross Douthat wrote about it on Monday. Here's the link:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/31/opinion/31douthat.html

The full report is available for free download at FamilyScholars.org.

Also, there's a hot discussion going on at FamilyScholars, with
donor-conceived young people reacting to the report and telling their
stories. You can see here for an example:
