Scott Stanley makes the rounds this morning on the new revised deluxe
edition of Fighting FOR Your Marriage which includes a new instructional DVD
for couples.   

Watch him on the Today Show and on CNN. You have to watch few-seconds of
commercials, but it is worth it ­ the right way to fight with your spouse.

In the follow-up discussion with two counselors on Today, Meredith Vieira
comments that the speaker-listener demonstration seems awkward and
unnatural. Which is exactly the point! We can LEARN to handle disagreements
in a new way rather than continuing to be stuck with Œwhat comes natural.¹
Continuing to handling disagreements in the same old ugly, unproductive ways
is what is truly ³awkward².  Watching the Speaker-Listener demonstration
made Vieira uncomfortable.  Imagine if she watched a couple do their usual ­
nasty, blaming, critical fighting.
