- ORDERING RECORDINGS

Many of you are asking about which sessions were in top 20, top 50, etc. I
won¹t have evaluation reports for at least a month but I¹ll share reports of
sessions about which people sent rave reviews. I heard wonderful things
about these two sessions on Heart Rhythm Practice, plus see the webcourse
discount:

750-215

energetic state. Experiential.

All the workshops and keynotes from the Smart Marriages Conference are
available as audio CDs or Downloads. The keynotes are also available on
video DVD. The Pre and Post Conference Training Institutes are NOT recorded
to the disappointment of so many of you. Here is a glowing endorsement
from an attendee of the Hold Me Tight training institute you might want to
make a note to attend this one in 2011. We did record the 90 min EFT/Hold Me
Tight workshop and we do have two keynotes by EFT founder, Sue Johnson, from
the 2008 and 2009 Conferences on DVD or audio. You might want to listen to
these to get an idea of why Jana, such an experienced MFT, was so
over-the-moon about this training. - diane

Diane, the two-day Hold Me Tight post-conference training was the most
powerful session I¹ve ever attended ‹ anywhere. I¹m going to do everything
in my power to get the Montana Vet Center staff trained in this ASAP. The
leaders (Kathryn Rheem and George Faller) were fantastic, and all of us were
stunned by what we learned about ourselves, our relationships, just from
doing the exercises and this was without our partners (there was only one
married couple in the class) and then being part of a group process. My
only regret is that this was not recorded. I¹d loved to listen to it again
AND I¹d love to have the recording to help me sell it to local groups, like
the Vets. Wish you would consider recording the Institutes.
Jana Staton

Here¹s the workshop:
750-703
Military Couples and EFT
Kathryn Rheem, MS
Use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with
couples impacted by 21st century war to help
them understand the trauma-induced shut-down
in their interpersonal relationships, and to reconnect.

And, to order Sue Johnson on DVD or audio, ask for Hold Me Tight 758-P7

- PARENTING FROM THE HEART WEBCOURSE

HI Diane,

What a wonderful conference again this year in Orlando! The Heart Rhythm
Practice workshop was well attended and much excitement and interest shared.
Several participants said they were blown away by the information and
practices and were excited about integrating this into their approaches.
Also, I had wonderful folks at the parenting workshop.

The Cornerstone of Hope Church purchased both Heart Rhythm Practice books
and all the meditation CDs, and two women who work with military families
and deployed parents want to bring me to Colorado to do a 3-day training in
the techniques. Nice to reach new groups. Thanks for providing this
opportunity!

I am hoping that you might list the Parenting from the Heart webcourse on
your list serv. It begins August 11 and I¹m extending the discount I offered
at Smart Marriages through the first week in August ($200 vs. $250). Parents
from Florida, Kentucky, Wyoming and California have already signed up, so
this is a unique coast-to-coast opportunity for parents to learn and share
with each other. This webcourse is based on the presentation that I made at
Smart Marriages and includes the best of the many practices that I¹ve
parent-tested over the past 10 years. In addition to heart-rhythm practices,
it also includes the tapping protocol of EFT that was introduced at Smart
Marriages by Carolyn Curtis for trauma-based couples (I¹ve been using this
with parents for 10 years), and my work with multiple intelligences to
discover and nurture children¹s strengths. I¹d love to get this work into
the hands of more parent educators and parents. Parents, counselors,
educators all welcome.

Here¹s the information:

Parenting from the Heart Webcourse

Daniel McMannis, M.Ed., is co-founder of HeartMentors, a trained facilitator
through the Center for Attitudinal Healing, and a teacher through the
Institute for Applied Meditation (IAM). He has presented at Smart Marriages
for the past two years. Parents from Florida, Kentucky, Wyoming and
California have already registered, making this a truly unique
coast-to-coast opportunity for parents to share with each other. The
webcourse will teach parents simple methods to activate their heart-brain
connection, help foster bonding and attachment, manage stress, improve
learning, and restore energy and optimism. Starts August 11th. Discount
($200 vs. $250 regular) extended through August 8th!.

- THE BSF STUDY
Diane,
Regarding the Marriage Education BSF study discussed in LET¹S NOT GIVE UP ON
THE IDEA OF MARRIAGE ED
By Cheryl Wetzstein
July 5, 2010

Note that the study was with unmarried couples. It is not surprising that
the relationship results were not impressive. A key point here is that
marriage does make a difference in a relationship. I am a marriage educator
working in federally funded marriage education. I have seen the important
difference that marriage makes regarding the commitment of the couple which
appears to significantly enhance the success of marriage education toward
improving their relationship. Bruce Pajot M.Div, M.A. Supporting Healthy
Marriage, Montefiore Medical Center. Bronx NY

Ah, yes. But it is important that we figure out how to bring marriage
education to the many unmarried/parenting couples so they can move with
confidence toward commitment and marriage. Note that the BSF research was
analyzed and put into context by Scott Stanley in the Friday Morning Keynote
on Research and Innovation one of the true highlights of the conference.
I strongly encourage anyone who is interested in this ongoing challenge to
listen to this one. Order session #750-P3. - diane
