- HALTZMAN: MARRIAGE GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH

Watch Scott Haltzman interviewed on Boston's Channel 5. He does us proud -
and the station did a good job with conveying the concepts - and in just two
minutes. It's thousands of little pieces like this that will eventually turn
the whole divorce mess around.....main place to row is on TV! I'll also
post the link on the *listen/watch* page at smartmarriages.com You'll have
three opportunities to see Dr Haltzman in Orlando, including his new focus:
Family Resilience.

- HEART & SOUL (and Sex)
Speaking of Scot, he and I were interviewed for the Feb/March issue of Heart
& Soul magazine for a feature on Working Wives: Balancing Marriage & Career.
Scott, author of The Secrets of Happily Married Women which he'll also
present in Orlando, gave good advice about not EVER letting sex become
*optional*. - diane

- YOU'RE DRIVING ME CRAZY: 10 RELATIONSHIP HEADACHES
......and how to fix them. This cover piece for the April issue of
Psychology Today features a whole bunch of Smart Marriage experts including
me, John Van Epp, Cloe Madanes, Tony Robbins, John Buri, John Gottman, and
Ed Friedman. I quoted Ed but the way the article is written it sounds like
he was interviewed - which I mention because it was so nice to see him
quoted "it's the reaction of the host, not the strength of the pathogen" as
though he were still with us. (Many of you know we lost him in 1996). It
uses my example of my dad's snoring (may he rest in peace) and asking my mom
how she could stand it. She said she loved it, when she heard him snoring
she knew he was there and she felt safe and it helped her sleep. The piece
concludes by saying that since most differences are not going to change
(Gottman is quoted as saying they are for the most part unresolvable and
immutable) so what you can change is your perspective. Yes you CAN.

The article is not yet posted on the Psychology Today website, but imagine
it soon will be available. AND, by the way, Sue Johnson's article *Hold Me
Tight: How to Really Connect With Your Partner* was the most emailed article
in the Feb/March issue. Sue will present a Hold Me Tight keynote and
Training Institute in Orlando. Article here:

- BILLBOARD POWER

Diane,
Every morning on my way to work I drive past a big billboard that features a
cute kid and says Get Married, Stay Married. S'wonderful!
