It's strange how the emails arrive in clusters....just got three in a row
about money.....

- HOW MUCH IS A TRILLION
- MONEY ISSUES
- CAB AND GAB SHARING
- ANOTHER COST-SAVING AND FRIEND-MAKING IDEA

- HOW MUCH IS A TRILLION

Thanks for sending this! This isn't about marriage, but I can't resist
sharing it.....it blew my mind. - diane

Large numbers get tossed around and we get numb to what they mean.....

Let's use seconds to put a trillion in perspective:

1 million seconds = 12 day, so a million seconds ago would be June 10, 2009

1 billion seconds = 32 years ago, wow, way way back in 1977

1 trillion seconds = Eeeeeek - 32,000 years - approximately 30,000 years BC,
before Christ!

- MONEY ISSUES

> Diane,
> Almost every couple that comes in is struggling with financial problems.
> Which program would you suggest I take? Speaking of financial problems, I
> just got permission to attend and am grateful that the institutes don't have a
> late fee.
> Rhonda

ALL of the marriage education curricula teach communication skills which
will help couples talk about money with empathy and understanding. I'd read
each *click for more info* on each institute - see if it sounds like it
suits you. I'd also strongly encourage you to check out the Money Habitudes
cards. I am amazed at the insights they bring. There will be a Money
Habitudes exhibit and wrkshop. I also think you're going to get a whole new
perspective to use with couples in the Generosity and Thrift Barbara
Whitehead and also in the Blaine Fowers Shared Goals and Terry Hargrave
Boomers on the Edge keynotes. - diane

- CAB AND GAB SHARING

> Diane
> This may be an old suggestion that you have covered before. Due to the expense

This is a great idea. Many of you will be arriving around the same times and
in addition to saving money I've heard incredible stories about people
connecting on the ride into the conference - and we have several famous
incidents where the taxi or shuttle driver ended up taking a few days off
work and registering for the conference. Tell them we'll still give them the
early-bird rate if they say you sent them. - diane

- ANOTHER COST-SAVING AND FRIEND-MAKING IDEA

It's not too late to look for a roommate. We've got several rooms with 4 to
a room - saving money and making new friends. If you've already got a room
and want to add a roommate, see here for how to get listed:
