Just got registration reports and we've got more foreign registrants than
ever before but no one from South Dakota. South Dakotans have attended
every year for years. Where are you guys? - diane

- ADDING AN INSTITUTE ON-SITE
> Dear Diane,
> Can I regisrer for the post-conference institute,904(Hold Me tight) during
> the conference?or will it be too late to secure a place for this institute.
> k.a.gunah
> Malaysia
The short answer: Yes, you can add 904 during the conference. The long
answer: People can add both pre and post conference institutes once they're
at the conference. However, we encourage early registration so that
Institute presenters know how many sets of materials/manuals/etc to ship.
Those that add institutes at the last minute must understand that presenters
MIGHT not have enough sets of materials. And those that sign up on-site
might have to do the training without their own set of materials in which to
follow along (though they can copy the crucial outlines for you), and also
pay for shipping the sets of materials to you after the conference. Each
institute's set of materials are different. See each institute on the web
and click on "for more info" for each one to see *what you get*:

- DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE SEPTIC TANK, THE PRESIDENT, & THE
MOTHER-IN-LAW?
In in-law news this week, the French media reported that President Sarkosy
fired a government official who failed to resolve a septic-tank issue that
he had personally promised to
fix at his mother-in-law's home on the Riviera. One more president with a
good mother-in-law relationship - which fits with our research that
finds that the mother-in-law/son-in-law relationship is generally one of the
best. Sons-in-law report less conflict and more humor in their interactions
with their mothers-in-law than do daughters-in-law. Learn more about
navigating in-law relationships at our workshop in Orlando.

- HOW TO PLAN A GATHERING?
I know when one asks, others are wondering.....
> Hello,
> My husband and I will be attending the Smart Marriage Conference again this
> year. We are Interested in having a round table for those interested helping
> us start a Northwest Florida Marriage Coalition. What do we need to do?
> DeWayne & Jacqui Thomas
I suggest you start by attending the Strong Florida Marriages networking
meeting on Thurs at 5:15pm and at that meeting ask if anyone is interested
in a NW Fla Coalition. Meet briefly with anyone interested and arrange a
time (or times) to meet. Post notices about any meeting times you come up
with on the Bulletin board near the Smart Marriages Registration desk. It's
too late to add formal morning roundtables (no more spaces) but there are
many times that you could meet. You could sit together at the Fri & Sat
lunches - decide on a general area - like the front right corner of the
ballroom, and someone hurries in to save a table in that area and claims it
with NW Florida table sign. (Get materials and a sign stand from the Smart
Marriages registration folks). You could also plan to meet for dinner on
Fri and/or Sat at 5:30-7:30pm and meet while you eat. Grab a table in Café
Osceola or get take-out sandwiches from the Deli and sit outside. I would
not suggest that you meet in the mornings and that you should, instead,
attend the various scheduled roundtables - there are a whole lot of
coalition-building ideas shared at those. Especially useful would be the
Family Ministry Roundtables. - diane
Here's the list of scheduled Roundtables:
> Morning Roundtables
