We're printing 150,000 Smart Marriages Conference brochures. I can send a
package of any size for you to distribute to colleagues and at conferences,
etc.

A brochure handed out by one of you ­ by an enthusiastic coalition member ­ 
has many times more impact than a brochure "cold mailed" to a purchased
list. You can start with a few, and work your way up.  Let me know how many
to ship (any amount - 5 - 50 - 500) and the street ADDRESS to which I should
ship them. (I can't ship to a PO box address.)

As soon as the brochure is available on-line, you can forward the url to
colleagues and all your e-lists. Or, both. Both - mail and download - is
best.

- BRIDAL FAIR IN TEXAS

Bill Doherty and Elizabeth Thomas presented their FIRST DANCE teach out of
the box program at a huge Bridal Fair in Longmont Texas this weekend.  They
presented both a First Dance keynote and a workshop.  This was an incredible
event with waltz classes, door prizes and an actual wedding - the couple won
the wedding and marriage education classes!  Attend the First Dance workshop
in Orlando and learn how you can present the program in your community at
churches, bases, community centers AND Bridal Fairs!

Everyone, take a minute and check out the amazing Laugh, Cuddle, Hug
billboards created by Operation Us and Ozarks Marriage Matters in
Springfield, MO to celebrate Marriage Month.

On February 7th, they'll hold a booster session for couples who've attended
a relationship workshop called, "Can We Bake a Cherry Pie?" The focus will
be having fun as a couple, learning a new skill, and understanding the
importance of social support.
 
On February 14th we're hosting an all day event for military couples called
"Couples in Arms." The focus is on supporting couples where one or both is
in the military with special workshops during the day for couples, as well
as for spouses who are separated from their partner by assignment or
deployment. The day will include dinner and a program in the evening. They
are working with folks from Ft. Leonard Wood, as well as with Family
Readiness Groups and support groups for those in the Guard or Reserve.

- UTAH EXTRAORDINARY MARRIAGE WEEK CELEBRATION

Hi Diane,
The Utah Healthy Marriage Initiative will be holding five conferences, a
training seminar, Extraordinary Marriage Awards, and will fly our bright red
street banners for Marriage Week USA.
 
Dr. John Van Epp will be coming to Salt Lake to conduct our 7th annual
training seminar for counselors, therapists, mediators, faith leaders, and
family life educators.  Later that evening, he will be the keynote speaker
following our annual Extraordinary Marriage Awards.  I'm excited to have
found a perky couple married 80 years!  EIGHTY!  And they are coming to the
awards.  Our governor and first lady will sign the award certificates.
 
In addition to the "No Jerks" events in Salt Lake, we have local coalition
conferences scheduled in four other cities.  We've posted everything on
www.utahmarriage.org <http://www.utahmarriage.org> .  We'll also announce
the launch of a new media campaign.
