That requirement is waived for Poster Presentations, which, by the way, are
always a big hit and which will be in an excellent location in the Exhibit

The WORKSHOP deadline has been extended to Oct 24.  Not that we need more
applications - thanks to all of you who got them in on time.  But I've given
extensions to so many who wrote with extenuating circumstances, that it's

- LOVE LINK OHIO - WOW, LOOK AT THIS!

I wanted to make you aware of an exciting celebration taking shape here in
Ohio.  Together with the Marriage Resource Center in Springfield, we are
making plans for our Marriage Week celebration. To start Marriage Week we
are hosting ³LoveLinkOhio² in which supporters of healthy marriages will
come together at 2 pm on Sunday, Feb. 8th along St. Rt. 40 and will link
hands all across the state of Ohio. We are hoping to get the attention of
local and national TV and radio stations and get people excited across Ohio.

When this comes to fruition we expect to have 301,449 people all across Ohio
standing up to celebrate Marriage.

This is going to kick off our Marriage Week celebration, in which we will
hold events each night of the week to promote healthy marriages here in our
area as well. 

We will keep you up to date as things develop.

This is extraordinary.  I've asked for more info on how they plan to reach
their impressive goal and will share with the list as I receive updates.
Are any of the rest of you making ambitious plans?  This reminds me of the
Bill Doherty's keynote where he said to change the culture we can't make
little plans, we have to think big and create BHAGs - BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS
GOALS.  
It sounds like Ohio has itself a BHAG.

Is it a coincidence that this is called Love Links and that John Van Epp is
based in Ohio?  His organization is Love THINKS and he's presenting a
preconference Institute on Marriage LINKS.  A whole lot of LINKING going on
in Ohio.  - diane

- FREE WEBINAR: THE IMPACT OF DIVORCE ON KIDS

Host: the National Healthy Marriage Resource Center (NHMRC)

Presenters: Paul Amato and Robin Deutsch on the latest research on how
divorce is affecting child well-being, including academic achievement,
social functioning, and mental health status. The webinar will provide
information on the differing outcomes of divorce on children coming from
low-conflict and high-conflict homes and discuss what parents and marriage
educators can do to help reduce the negative impacts. The webinar is open to
anyone interested in learning more about the topic.

A Webinar is a seminar presentation that allows you to simultaneously listen
to (on the phone) and watch the presentations (on your computer).

Joining the webinar is a two step process - first link on via your computer
and then call in to listen on your phone.
