- NATIONAL HISPANIC MARRIAGE DAY 2008 THIS SUNDAY

The first annual National Hispanic Marriage Day 2008/Festival Nacional del
Matrimonio Hispano-Latino, Sunday, October 12, 2008 will serve as an
awareness campaign to remind us that one of the greatest heritage we can
leave behind is a strong family with strong values. This celebration will be
used as one of the closing events for the 2008 National Hispanic Heritage
Month‹September 15 - October 15 in many cities. We are urging faith based
and community groups everywhere to mobilize couples to demonstrate their
support for marriage by planning special events, in their cities, to
celebrate marriages as a key building block of the Hispanic-Latino family,
community and our nation. Resources and ideas for local events can be found
on the website; our goal is to post these events with the organization's web
link on the NHMD website.
