- ULTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS: CAN WE ADD TRAINING INSTITUTES??

I enjoyed the Cloe Madanes training last year in Denver and have found it
one of the best things I've done to improve my work with couples. She talked
about adding on to the program. Can you find out where things stand?  I'd
like to spend another day with her to deepen my understanding of the
concepts (thank you for bringing these incredible people to us), but if it
will be basically identical to last year, I think I'll pass. I've already
registered for the conference but a woman named Susan that I talked to at
the registration office on Friday (the 651#) said it would be OK to add the
institute at a later date at the "with conference" discount.  Hope that is
true.  Await your reply.

Yes, Susan is right  You can add Institutes AFTER you submit your
registration. There is no early-bird discount for Institutes, so prices are
not affected...in fact, we've been adding institutes all week. However, it
helps presenters if they know how many packages of student materials they
need to bring, so please try to let the registrar know ASAP: 651-487-9469

I've talked to Cloe Madanes and she will be introducing a whole new program
in San Francisco. And, there's more. In addition to the new program, she
says she'll be teaching from 2 brand new DVDs that are not yet in either
program (the original or the new) - so there will be lots of new stuff for
you.  Anyone who attends the Institute will be qualified to teach BOTH the
original "Ultimate Relationship Program" and the new "Ultimate Relationship
Program: Divorce Prevention". Cloe says the new DVDs feature couples
"dealing with the problem of not enough love, intimacy, and sex, and will
focus on helping them see their spouse as their greatest resource and on
appealing to higher spirituality to improve their marital love life."

If you're already a fan of Cloe's Strategic couples work, this sounds
intriguing.  In fact, I'm going to share this with the list.

The latest program was developed at the request of the California Healthy
Marriage Coalition for teaching to groups in congregations and community
marriage projects. It includes 5 lessons on 5 DVDs and a manual for program
leaders which includes: a mini lecture for each of the 5 sessions; a
full-length DVD-film of each of the 5 couples, questions to lead
discussions, exercises for couples to practice in the session/class, and
couples homework.  Each class or lesson is designed to be 2.5 hrs long. Cloe
says the couples on the DVDs are "easy to identify with and provide
inspiration, a role model, and a memory aide for the viewers." And, she's
pleased that one of the couples is Latino.   

Even better, the Robbins/Madanes Center has agreed to extend the same
discount to Smart Marriages participants that they gave the California
Healthy Marriage Coalition for their volume discount. That means that at the
San Francisco Conference, you'll be able to purchase the new 5-DVD set
"Ultimate Relationship: Divorce Prevention" program for $100!

The original Ultimate Relationship Program that you saw at last year's Smart
Marriages Conference in the Tony Robbins keynote and the Cloe Institute,
includes 8 DVD couple films, 10 CDs, an in-depth workbook for couples, and a
Manual for Program Leaders that is a  step-by-step teacher's manual with
which anyone could stand in front of a group and teach the program. This
program will be available at a conference discount for $249.

Both programs are also used in clinical work.

And, because because Cloe is one of the world's top marital therapists, I
want to anticipate and answer a question that I'm sure I'll be asked: lay
educators and the public are encouraged to attend both her keynote and the
training institute.  You do NOT need to be a mental health professional to
attend this training or to be qualified to teach these programs.

- HEAD START ON HOTEL LOGISTICS

Here's a 3-D floor plan to give the curious a head start in finding their
way around the Hilton: The hotel has three buildings - #1, #2, #3.  Meeting
space and sleeping rooms are located in all three buildings.

All keynotes will be in the Grand Ballroom and we'll have breakout sessions
in the Plaza, Continental, Yosemite, Franciscan, and Union Square rooms.
