- BECAUSE OF ME CAMPAIGN
> Diane,
> I was so impressed with the 'because of M.E.' materials I saw at the San
> Francisco Conference. I believe that they are available on a website and would
> like to show them to my colleagues. Please forward the address of the
> website. I've tried searching the Web and the Smartmarriages site but have
> failed to find any link.
> (Great Conference thank you)

- LIFESTYLE SURVEY
Diane,
Can you please post a request for survey participants on the List? I believe
that the survey has a direct benefit to couples based on feedback such as:
"I did this poll with my husband and we were able to talk about the
questions." and "I took the poll and realized I need to talk to my husband
about issues I've been hiding from him." The poll is anonymous, names and
email addresses are NOT collected, and it's not about selling anything. -
Shauna Springer, PhD
The Lifestyle Poll -a survey to assess the decisions and compromises that
individuals make in pursuing fulfilling lives. Designed to stimulate
self-reflection and conversations between partners. Over 1300 people have
completed the survey. The survey is open to anyone who wants to participate,
although the current priority is to collect data from more males. For
information, to read comments from past participants, or to take the survey,
go to http://www.lifestylepoll.com/

- INSPIRATION
In case you're getting blisters as you row and need inspiration, here's
some. The pertinent line - "the biggest issue" - is hidden away in this
editorial. See if you can find it. - d

> Why did the United States become the leading economic power of the 20th
> century? The best short answer is that a ferocious belief that people have the
> power to transform their own lives gave Americans an unparalleled commitment
> to education, hard work and economic freedom.
>
> Between 1870 and 1950, the average American¹s level of education rose by 0.8
> years per decade. In 1890, the average adult had completed about 8 years of
> schooling. By 1900, the average American had 8.8 years. By 1910, it was 9.6
> years, and by 1960, it was nearly 14 years. . . .
