Organizations considering applying for the Compassion Capital Fund (CCF)
Targeted Capacity Building (mini-grant) program are invited to sign up for a
FREE informational conference call about the grant program this Friday,
March 23 at 1:00 p.m. (EDT). The call is being offered by the Office of
Community Services and hosted by CCF Federal program manager Thom Campbell
in advance of the April 10, 2007, application deadline.
Topics to be discussed on this Friday's call include:
* the types of projects and activities allowable under the program;
* how to submit an application;
* what makes a strong proposal; and
* how grantees will be selected.
CCF mini-grants are awarded to grassroots faith-based and community
organizations serving distressed communities. These grassroots organizations
use the funds toward building their organization's capacity in one of four
social service priority areas of need: at-risk youth, homelessness, healthy
marriage, or rural communities.
The Office of Community Services anticipates awarding a total of $10 million
in grants of up to $50,000 to approximately 200 organizations. The
application deadline is April 10. To download a copy of the program
announcement, visit
http://www.acf.hhs.gov/grants/open/HHS-2007-ACF-OCS-IJ-0036.html .
As stated above, the conference call will be held Friday afternoon at one
o'clock (eastern time). Space is limited. To register for this conference
call, organizations should visit

For organizations unable to participate in the call, a recording will be
available for download on the Compassion Capital Fund Web site (

This call is intended for organizations interested in receiving information
on the Targeted Capacity Building program only. For information on other CCF
grant programs, visit the CCF Web site or the Administration for Children
