Two big OOOPS - 2/27/07

This is not my day.

First, the ON-LINE registration link is NOT working. It WAS working
yesterday when I linked it to the website. I did a test drive. But the
registration company is fiddling with something. It should be back up by
noon. I hope. I'll let you know the minute it's working.

Second, the conference brochures are disappointing. The photos are too dark
and too BLUE. And, murky. We look like we're part of that blueman group
(bluemangroup.com) I'll have to hire a Blues band.

I had to use a new printer this year. Printers keep going out of business.
In fact, this is my 4th printer in six years - they go bust. Someone
explained to me that it's likely because so much of what they do has been
taken over by the internet.

I trusted these new guys because of their long family-business history and
because all my transactions with them (by phone, email, fax, and fed ex)
have been great. The pdf looked great. The print proofs looked great. So
for the first time in 11 years, I had them mail the brochures without seeing
an actual printed copy. I wanted to get them out there. I received mine in
the mail yesterday just like many of you. And, then, I couldn't sleep. All
these months of work.....all these exciting sessions.....blue!

The info is all correct (well, I shouldn't say that - I'm sure you'll find
mistakes) but at least most of it is correct, and you can read it - the copy
is fine. It's just the photos.

We'll have to make the best of it. They mailed over 150,000 of them Friday
and the rest yesterday. The printer is in Indiana and is a printer and mail
house all in one. Which I was happy about - central distribution to reach
all parts of the country faster and mail house self-contained which saved
several days in the process. Last year it took 3 weeks to get them from the
printer into your hands. BUT, at this point I'm taking printer
recommendations. It has to be a BIG printer - high volume job. If you've got
one you love, tell me about it.
