- ON-LINE REGISTRATION FORM POSTED
You can now register for the Denver Smart Marriages conference on-line at:
http://www.gotomylist.com/cme/smc05/smc06rf2.cfm
Register On-Line by May 11th and save an additional $10 AND be entered in a
sweepstakes to win a free 2008 Smart Marriages Conference Registration.
Four chances to win. Why do we offer incentives to those that register
On-line registration? BECAUSE it prevents so many mistakes and mistakes
cost staff time. If you register on-line registration staff doesn't have to
try to decipher your handwriting and reissue badges when they misinterpret
your name or address or session selections. On-line is the most accurate,
easiest way to register. It's also completely secure. I suggest you wait to
register until you have a "real" printed brochure in hand but if you don't
want to wait for your brochure to arrive in the mail, you can download a
brochure at: http://www.smartmarriages.com/Brochure.07.pdf
Please let me know about any glitches in the on-line form or suggestions to
make it easier to understand.
#######################
- THE BROCHURES ARE IN THE MAIL
Brochures were mailed Feb 23. You should receive one by the end of
next week. If not, it means I don't have your postal mail address. I
received mine today in DC mailed first class from Indiana on Friday.
Those of you that requested bulk shipments should have them by March 10, or
much earlier.
If you can distribute additional brochures to colleagues, let me know how
many and where to send them.
#########################
- SEND THE BROCHURE ELECTRONICALLY AROUND THE WORLD
The pdf makes it easy to send the entire conference brochure electronically
to colleagues anywhere in the world. The pdf is complete - even includes the
ads and special offers. The Armed Forces are sending it chaplains around the
globe. Just email the pdf url or post a link to it on your website. The
Brochure pdf address (url) is: http://www.smartmarriages.com/Brochure.07.pdf
############################
- REGISTER BY MAIL OR FAX
If you don't want to register on-line, use the registration form on
page 19 of the brochure to register by mail or fax. Those that register by
mail or fax will not be entered in the sweepstakes to win a free conference
registration and you won't save the $10 per person for On-Line
registrations.
Before you register On-Line, by fax or mail, remember there is lots more
info on the Website. It won't all fit into the brochure. Especially
check the details about each training institute: agenda, requirements,
certification, materials at: http://www.smartmarriages.com/institutes.html
And, check the conference details at
http://www.smartmarriages.com/conferencedetails.html
########################
- THREE BANQUETS - BEST PLACE TO "GET TO KNOW YOU"
Due to many requests for additional opportunities to eat together and
'network' we're continuing the popular 3-banquet format. People say that
they've found the banquets are BY FAR the best and most relaxed place to
meet new colleagues and share ideas.
Each banquet is $37 per person which includes salad, entrée, dessert, coffee
and a glass of wine and tax and tip - which is what we have to pay the hotel
for the meal. The wonderful keynotes and the chance to network with your
colleagues are "free" bonuses! Attend with a partner or alone - you won't
feel lonely. Each banquet is approved for 2 hrs CEU. Conference registrants
can bring guests. Purchase guest banquet tickets on your registration form.
Friday night, June 29: Willard Harley "His Needs, Her Needs" is THE BIG
social event of the conference - your best chance to network
and help Dr Harley celebrate his Smart Marriages Impact Award. 2 hrs CEU.
Wednesday night, June 27: Nicky and Sila Lee "The Marriage Course". An
exemplary 'teach-out-of-the-box' format that is expanding like wild fire.
The banquet offers a chance to get an early start on networking. The evening
is co-hosted by Steve Beirne, NACFLM president, and Mike McManus, president
of Marriage Savers, who will present brief (5 min) welcome remarks. All
Smart Marriages conference attendees are welcome. You do not have to attend
the Marriage Savers or NACFLM training institutes (#113 and #114) - or, any
institute, to attend the banquet. 2 hrs CEU.
Sunday night, July 1st: The closing Banquet and our last chance to
socialize for a year! Come and laugh as you see yourselves with delightful
Master Marriage Educators Pat Love and Steven Stosny in "How to Improve Your
Marriage Without Talking About It". 2 hrs CEU.

- SPOUSE DISCOUNTS:
You definitely want to bring your spouse! It's that kind of conference. If
they're not there, you'll miss them. First spouse registers at the regular
conference rate (on-line rate $345), and second spouse gets a discount of
$100 - registers for $245. Also, if spouses attend the same pre and/or post
training institutes, second spouse gets a $50 PER DAY Institute discount.
FREQUENTLY ASKED SPOUSE DISCOUNT QUESTIONS: To obtain the spouse discount
for the conference you do NOT have to attend the same workshops. You will
be together at all the keynotes and lunches, so it's a great idea to split
up and attend different workshops - gives you more to talk about at night as
you compare notes. For the spouse Institute discount, you DO have to attend
the SAME institute - it's based on sharing the training materials. And, to
get the spouse Discount you do have to register together with one form of
payment.
#########################
- GROUP DISCOUNTS
We also offer team/group discounts. If four register from the same
organization, a fifth person attends free. Lots of congregations,
communities, organizations and agencies bring a group. They fan out, cover
everything and when they get home, they've got all the bases covered.
To get the group discount, you must all register together and pay with one
combined payment. No cancellations - substitutions only.
#########################
- ROOMMATES:
Many have found roommates at past conferences and made life-long "smart
marriages" friends. It's great to have a conference buddy, plus it's a
great way to save money. On the web site, click conference and then
roommates http://www.smartmarriages.com/roommates.html - for info on how to
sign up.
###########################
- SINGLES AT THE CONFERENCE
This is not a "marriage" conference, it's a "marriage EDUCATION" conference.
MANY singles attend and love it -- some attend to be trained as relationship
and marriage educators; others to improve their own relationship smarts;
and, some also on the chance that they might meet other singles that are
hoping to someday practice what they learn in a Smart Marriage. (Which is
why we have special singles stickers for your badges - so you can recognize
each other. They're discreet. No one else even notices, they're too busy and
too 'married'. But those with radar, see the stickers.)
Singles can benefit from ALL the sessions - plus there are certain courses
of special interest like: How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk; The First Dance;
De-Mystifying the Relational Space; Mars/Venus Relationship
Skills; The Icy Pole Stick Dance; The Five Languages of Love; Children of
Divorce: Change Your Odds; Journey to Love for "Singles Again"; Basic
Training: Men, Women and Marriage; PAIRS: Skills for Couples; Between Two
Worlds: Children of Divorce; Body Wisdom; Tackling the Myths; Warm Things
Up!; Remarriage Prep: The Second Time Around; Genograms; Getting to Know
YOU; The Flag Page: What¹s Right About You
- plus the special "Under 40" Fri morning Roundtable!
########################
- PLUS an OPENING NIGHT BONUS SESSION FOR SINGLES ONLY
This session is scheduled the first night to increase your odds of meeting a
conference buddy early on. This session is for those who are single (as in
'single and not married' - not, as in, 'married but attending the conference
alone.') No additional registration required. If you have a conference
Badge, you're registered. Just show up Thursday night 8:45 following
the opening keynote session. "Why Singles Aren't Marrying" presented by Bev
and Tom Rodgers, PhDs. 1.5 hrs CE. Some folks say it isn't fair that
singles get to earn this extra CE. It's to make up for having to attend a
marriage conference single. ;)
#########################
- STUDENT DISCOUNTS AND VOLUNTEERS
Student discount is $100, (or $245). To receive the Student Discount you
MUST SUBMIT a copy of your current fee statement WITH your registration.
To do this on-line so you can be part of the discount and the sweepstakes,
you will fax your fee statement - see on-line reg form for instructions.
Or, full-time students can attend as a work-exchange VOLUNTEERS. Volunteers
see the entire conference from a special behind-the-scenes perspective. If
interested in volunteer work-exchange program, email for info and an
application.
#########################
