This is a wonderful opportunity to help get our "education" message out
there.  Don Gordon's DVD-based "Children in the Middle" course is an award
winning, highly effective program - and it gets great reviews every year at
Smart Marriages.  Please forward this to any couple or organization that
might have couples that could help with this.  Explain to them that they
will be helping themselves and their kids have much calmer, more
cooperative, and better lives after the divorce - and, remember when there

- WHEN JOHNNY COMES FLYING HOME

Hi Diane,

In regards to the Iraq piece on soldiers returning, let us not forget it's
not just the Army over there - we have every branch serving long,
frightening deployments.  For our Air Force members, we have quite a few
folks who would normally have jobs behind desks or standing post at the
front gate now on the front lines and doing convoy duty (the most
dangerous.)  When these folks come home, it's tough to make the big a shift
as quickly as families would expect, causing challenges in re-integration.
Since entire Army brigades deploy together, the Army is able to take the
time to send their members and spouses through re-integration classes,
including what was presented at last year's Smart Marriages conference.  Our
Air Force challenge is folks going out in ones and twos, coming back, taking
2 wks leave and then being expected to be back in full swing the next Monday
morning.  We're offering 8 Habits of Successful Marriage from FranklinCovey
as a pre-deployment preparation but are still looking for something QUICK
and hard-hitting.  Once they get home they are so focused on leave, it's
tough to get them into anything more than an hour.  Any suggestions would be
appreciated
