This FREE grant tele-session by Dennis Stoica is scheduled for this Mon June
22. It's space-limited. Please act today if you want a spot. And, bravo
and thanks to Dennis. It's not like he has time for this. I guess he just
can't help trying to help - and, I imagine, it's easier to do a tele-group
than to try to take your individual calls. Dennis will be at the Atlanta
Smart Marriages, and, in addition to his "Ready, Set, Go!" Fri keynote, will
present four 2-hour workshops, one of which will be a 2-hr session on grant
writing. If he can't get us all to "Ready, Set, Go!" I don't know who can.

> Hi Diane,
>
> With the recent flurry of ACF marriage-related grant announcements (and with
> others pending), I realize there is probably a lot of grant-related
> confusion, excitement, frustration and/or anxiety with many of the folks on
> the newslist. I'd like to try to help clear up some of that, if I can. So
> I have scheduled a 90-minute "Grant-Opportunities Teleconference" to take
> place this coming Monday, May 22nd from 8:00 to 9: 30p.m. EST.
>
> The teleconference will have 4 components:
>
> 1) Compare and contrast the 6 currently released marriage-related grant
> opportunities. Also included in this discussion will be the $50,000 CCF
> Targeted Capacity-Building mini-grant which is expected to be announced very
> soon - so we will really discuss 7 grant opportunities;
>
> 2) Peel back the layers on the two main marriage grant opportunities (the
> "Healthy Marriage Demonstration Project" announced May 16 and the "Promoting
> Responsible Fatherhood" announced May 18);
>
> 3) For those not particularly familiar with the world of federal grants, I
> will include a section in the workshop on "how to read and make sense of a
> federal grant RFP". In order for people to get the most value of this
> section of the workshop, I strongly suggest that all participants print out
> a copy of the RFP for the "Healthy Marriage Demonstration Project" grant
> announcement (available at
> http://www.acf.hhs.gov/grants/open/HHS-2006-ACF-OFA-FE-0033.html and have
> it available for reference during the telephone call.)
>
> 4) Answer as many pre-submitted questions that I can. (See information on
> this below.)
>
> There will be no charge to participate in this training workshop, except for
> the cost of the long-distance phone call to access the teleconference.
> However, because of capacity constraints with the teleconferencing service
> we will be using, we will have to restrict participants to the first 96
> people to register for this.
>
> In order to register to participate in this teleconference, people will need
> to send an email containing the following information:
>
> - Name of your organization
>
> - City and State of your organization
>
> - Name and Title of the person (or people) who will be participating in the
> call
>
> - Telephone number you will be using to call in from (this is important!).
>
> In the email subject line, please indicate "May 22nd Workshop
> Registration", and send the email, with the information requested
> above to: Andrew at CaliforniaMarriages.org
> .. Upon receipt of your email, we will confirm your registration in this
> workshop with an email containing the phone number and access code to use to
> participate in this training.
>
> Re. Pre-Submitted Questions: In order to make this workshop as relevant as
> possible to the questions and concerns people actually have, we are
> providing an opportunity for participants to submit their marriage
> grant-related questions in advance to this email address:
> May22ndGrantQuestions at gmail.com . We ask that you submit questions no
> later than 3pm EST on Monday, May 22nd. During the workshop we will try to
> answer as many of these questions as possible.
>
