- GREAT QUOTES FROM MARRIAGE RESOURCES:
FROM MARRIAGE PARTNERSHIP MAGAZINE:
I just received a copy of the premier edition of MARRIAGE PARTNERSHIP: the
Catholic Couples Edition. I give it highest praise. It's edited by Kim
Hagerty who will present at Smart Marriages Atlanta and is filled with truly
wonderful articles including several by Smart Marriages presenters: "Crimes
of Passion: When conflict turns the heat way up..." by Scott Stanley,
"Instant Family: Stepcouples hit the ground running..." by Elsie Radtke;
"Finding Balance: on keeping a marriage love calendar...." by Bridget
Brennan. I'm also impressed that "The Marriage Course" that was featured in
a banquet at Dallas Smart Marriages and which will be one of our special
invited Master Minis in Atlanta has a full-page, 4-color ad. I imagine this
is a brilliant place to advertise.
And, gotta share these quotes/anecdotes that I've lifted from the Spring
issue and which I've already added to the Smart Marriages Marriage Quotes
webpage.
> Being in a long marriage is a little bit like that nice cup of coffee every
> morning - I might have it every day, but I still enjoy it.
> Stephen Gaines, documentary filmmaker

> I love "folded" potato chips. When John and I eat chips together, he never
> says
> a word. He just smiles and hands the folded chips from his bag to me as he
> comes
> to them. Each one of those potato chips is a love note to me.
> Linda Gilden, South Carolina

> Because my husband understand that my monthly cycle affects me both
> emotionally and physically, he now plans for it. Using his Daytimer, he marks
> off
> in seven-day increments the dates of different stages in my cycle. If we need
> to
> plan a vacation or discuss an important issue, he will do so during the first
> week
> when I'm the most positive and have the most energy. On the other hand, he'll
> back
> off from discussing hot topics or scheduling activities during the third week,
> when I tend to be emotionally and physically drained. Of course my body
> doesn't operate like clockwork on a perfect 28 day schedule. But his
> sensitivity to my needs not only minimizes stress between us, but shows me how
> much
> he loves me.
> Teryl Hegel, Illinois

AND, FROM THE CURRENT ISSUE OF THE IMAGO ONLINE NEWSLETTER:
Spring Relationship Tips:
> As spring approaches, a time of growth and renewal begins. It is a good time
> to remember that one of the beautiful things about being in a committed
> relationship is that our partner holds the Blueprint for our ongoing growth.
> Thank your partner today for holding this mirror for you... and p.s the fun
> thing is that you hold the mirror for your partner's growth. It's mutual! We
> grow, like Spring, and love blooms. - Maureen Brine, Imago instructor,
> Toronto, Canada.
> Once we accept that even between the closest human beings
> infinite distances continue to exist, we can live wonderfully
> side by side. As long as we succeed in loving the distance
> between one another, each of us can see the other as whole
> against the sky.
> Rainer Maria Rilke
Which reminds me, we have enough registrations in the hopper that both the
Hendrix and Hunt 2-hour Mini training and their 2-day Training Institutes
are going to be huge. There is tremendous interest in their new Imago
Education programs. The Mini workshop may close out, so do register early
if you're interested in this one.

> IMAGO: Connects and Couplehood as a Spiritual Path - MINI
> Harville Hendrix, PhD, Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD
> Two programs teach key IMAGO skills including the Imago Dialogue Process to
> help couples begin their life-long journey of growth, healing, and spiritual
> connection.
