One of the grant opportunities announced by ACF May 15, was for the National
Healthy Marriage Resource Center (NHMRC):

Many of you wrote that first week to ask WHY I wasn't going to apply.   I
offered a variety of explanations including that I didn't see how I could
consider it given the timing - the conference right on top of the grant
deadline.  This week many of you have written again saying you "heard
through the grapevine" that I might have changed my mind.  It's true. I'm
joining forces with First Things First (Julie Baumgardner's organization)
and the California Healthy Marriages Coalition (Dennis Stoica's
organization). In addition, David Popenoe of the National Marriage Project
has agreed to be on our Board. The winning applicant will be announced by
the end of September. These are exciting times for Marriage Education - our
second decade with, I am convinced, great things to come!    - diane
