- DIBBLE: HELP ON ALLOWABLE ACTIVITY #2 GRANT WRITING
> Greetings all HMI Grant Writers!
>
> The Dibble Fund for Marriage Education is ready to assist or partner
> with you in writing either an ACF Demonstration Project or Capacity
> Building Grant. The Connections, Love U2 and Art of Loving Well
> programs support Allowable Activity 2) "Education in high schools on the
> value of marriage relationships" and apply to either Capacity Building
> grants or Demonstration Grants that address Priority Areas 1-3 and 8.
>
> Through our many contacts with Family and Consumer Science teachers at
> both state and local levels, we can help you gain access to high schools
> in your area where classes on healthy relationships and marriage can be
> taught. If you would like to be linked with the educators in your service
> area, please email Joyce Huff at joyce at dibblefund.org.
>
> On our website http://www.dibblefund.org/grant_HMI.htm we have
> provided aids to assist you in writing both kinds of grants. We hope
> our documents and links will expedite the writing of your grant. If
> you need further information, please let us know.
>
> One more thing...the grant worksheet for the Demonstration Grant is
> organized according to the headings of the grant sections. We find this
> worksheet is helpful in organizing our thoughts prior to actually writing
> the grant.
>
> Again, if we can assist in any way please contact me.

> Onward!

- POWER OF TWO - FREE GAME TO EXPAND IMPACT OF YOUR GRANT AND/OR WEBSITE
> In his grant-writing teleconferences Dennis Stoica has challenged all of us
> who writing grant proposals to develop a spirit of cooperation. At Power of
> Two have been brainstorming and came up with an idea we¹re excited to share!
>
> Background:
>
> At this year¹s SmartMarriages conference, now just two weeks away, Power of
> Two will be unveiling our new internet-based marriage skills game, Power of
> Two Online.
>
> We intend to create a range of episodes of the game. Each episode of
> Po2-Online teaches a specific set of skills-effective listening, tactful
> talking, conflict resolution, etc. Each episode also targets a specific
> demographic--for instance, engaged couples, couples with new babies, etc--by
> enacting conflicts typical of the challenges that group may face.
>
> The game is designed to complement any organization¹s marriage education
> options. It can serve as a fun introduction to marriage education, as an
> easily accessible skills booster, as a mentor training method, or as a
> stand-alone teaching method where face-to-face teaching isn¹t feasible.
>
> Here¹s the deal:
>
> Power of Two intends to offer game episodes for FREE to any organization
> engaged in marriage education. Churches, synagogues, extension programs,
> community marriage initiatives, journalists, therapists anyone who has a
> website from which they would like to convey marriage skills is welcome to
> register to add the game to their site.
>
> Although we will not be releasing the game for general viewing until the
> upcoming conference, we wanted to give people who are writing an AFC grant
> proposal a heads up about this unique resource. If you would like to take an
> advanced look, or would like to discuss how this resource could help to
> strengthen your grant proposal, please send us an email (address below).
>
> It's a win-win.
>
> Actually, our proposal is a win-win-WIN arrangement. How? The benefit to the
> Power of Two is that as more organizations include the games on their websites
> and in their grant proposals, it will become easier for us to get funding to
> develop additional game episodes. The benefit to your organization is that via
> the wide reach of the internet you will be able to convey marriage education
> to a larger population. Third, couples will be the ultimate beneficiaries. As
> they have fun playing the game they will be enhancing their skills for
> successful marriage.
>
> To find out more about including PO2-Online on your website and/or in your
> grant proposal, please email Power of Two Institute director Jesse Heitler at
> jheitler at po2institute.com <mailto:jheitler at po2institute.com>.
>
> One request: It will be helpful for us if in the subject line you indicate if
> your interest is for your website, a grant proposal, or both.
>
> Looking forward to hearing from you!
