- CONFERENCE PROGRAM:
The entire 2006 Smart Marriages Atlanta conference is now posted on the
website -- all the workshops, keynotes and institutes.  To view, go to

- PRESENTERS:
If you're a presenter and are just finding out through this notice, first,
Congratulations!! and, second, I apologize that you are finding out this
way.  I did send emails last week notifying presenters, and, if you didn't
receive an email, it means the email address I have for you is not working.
Please send me an email so I can update my database.

But, to all of you, welcome - you are part of the very best Smart Marriages
Conference ever.  Go to the web site right now and see WHEN you are
scheduled to present.  Let me know if you see anything misspelled, wrong
degree, etc. The brochure is at blueline but I can make spelling/degree
edits if I hear from you in the next few days.  - diane

- SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION TO PRESENT, HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING
If you submitted an application and you are NOT listed on the
Presenter Index, it means you didn't make it this year. There were many
excellent applications that didn't make it - just MANY more submissions than
spaces. I'm sorry that we had to turn away so many wonderful submissions.

I also regret it if this is how you are hearing the news. I am the only one
here - no staff.  I wish I had the time to enter all the submitters in a
data base and then notify each of you individually. - diane

- REGISTERING FOR THE CONFERENCE
It is NOT yet possible to register for the conference. Registration will be
available by the first week of March or earlier.  If you register by the end
of April we guarantee you'll get all your first choices for Institutes,
workshops and Mini trainings.

- BROCHURES and the PINK POSTCARDS:

The Conference brochures with registration forms should be in the mail by
the end of Feb. If you are on the mail list you'll receive a brochure by the
first week of March.

You know you are on the mail list if you received a Smart Marriages
Conference hot pink postcard in the last two weeks.   If you didn't receive
a postcard that means I do not have your correct mailing address.  You can
be on this newslist and not be on the postal mail list.  Send your address
if you'd like to receive a brochure in the mail.  Or, you can just register
on-line.

- ON-LINE REGISTRATION:

I'll notify the list as soon as the registration form is posted on the
website. 

All the registration prices and info ARE available now on the web site
- conference, training institutes, banquets, and couple, group and student
discounts, CEUs, etc. along with hotel and travel info.

- BROCHURES BY THE CARTON:
We're printing 200,000 brochures. I can send bulk shipments of brochures for
you to distribute to colleagues and at conference, etc.

Let me know how many to ship and the stret ADDRESS to which I should ship
them. I can't ship bulk UPS to a box address.

A brochure handed out by an enthusiastic coalition member has many times
more impact than a brochure "cold mailed" to our purchased lists.  You can
start with a few, and work your way up. Just let me know how many to send.
We can't change the world, unless we reach it!

OR, when the brochure is available on-line you can simply forward a pdf of
the entire brochure and registration forms to your friends and colleagues.
Or, do both.  Both won't hurt. ;)

- HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
The Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel - the location of ALL conference events -
is a beautiful hotel and it's nice to stay at headquarters, so PLEASE call
TODAY and reserve your room.   Once it's full, I can't help you except to
try help you find a room at some other Atlanta area hotel.  I warn you that
the city is booked over our dates and overflow hotel space is going to be
tight. 

To reserve your hotel room, FIRST, go to the smartmarriages web site and
determine which pre and post institutes you want to attend so you know when
you need to arrive and depart.  Note that training institutes begin at 8am,
so you need to arrive the previous night.  To make your reservation, call
800-228-9290 and ask for the "Smart Marriages Conference Rate" $89
single/double/$99 triple/$109 quad. The rates are in effect from June 14 -
July 1.

Please notify me immediately if you are told the hotel is full on any of our
dates.

We have conference Airline & car rental discounts.

- EXHIBITS: 

The table top exhibits are the heart of the conference. It's like there are
two conferences - one that takes place in the workshops and another that
takes place out at the exhibits.  If you are interested in an exhibit,
contact me immediately by return email and request an application. Exhibits
are $595 - and are open from Wed 9am - Sunday 6pm.  We expect at 2000+
attendees.

- ROOMMATES:
Click the "find a roommate" link for information.  It's a great way to save
money. It's also nice to have a conference "buddy".

- SPOUSE/GROUP/STUDENT DISCOUNTS:
If you've got a spouse or significant other, bring them. If they're not
there, you'll miss them. It's that kind of conference. $100 spouse discount
for the conference and $50 per day spouse discount for pre and post
conference institutes (if you attend the SAME institute).

GROUPS/TEAMS:
We also offer team/group discounts.  If 4 register from an organization, a
fifth person attends free.  Lots of churches, organizations bring a group.
They fan out and cover everything. When they get home - they've got all the
bases covered - all the programs to teach - marriage prep, marriage
enrichment, marriages on-the-brink, stepfamilies, domestic violence, sex,
becoming parents, avoid marrying a jerk, teen abstinence, etc.

SINGLES:
Many singles attend, and we've got special sessions for singles and
stickers so you can recognize each other.

STUDENTS: 
Student discount is $100, or, Students can attend almost FREE as Volunteers.

VOLUNTEERS.  Student volunteers see the entire conference.  If interested,
email for application.  We still need volunteeers.
