Diane, 
I'm attending a big conference next week.  Any chance you could send me
brochures?  I'm sure this group is fertile ground and I'll talk up the
conference with or without the brochures, but I've found they help make the
point. If you're all out, could you send me the flier.  I've used that a few
times, and it also helps.

I still have a few thousand in my basement.  AND, we should especially try
to get them to folks in the DALLAS/FT WORTH areas -- they should at least
know about what's FREE -- they can attend the free pre and post conference
institutes on the School/Youth programs (#117 & # 918) -- check out a dozen
curricula to teach in high schools and youth groups.  And, they can browse
the Exhibits for FREE.  And, the Sunday Afternoon Seminars are only $15 per
person. Let the locals know - we won't be in Texas again. - diane

Initiative Events. We can pump Carolyn for HOW she did this at the
conference.  She'll present at the closing Marriage Rally to help us plan
how we're all going to ramp up our efforts in the coming year.  - diane

That is a sight I wish I had seen! I am determined to get to Giley's this
year, but clearly won't make it till Mon night AFTER the conference.  Let's
plan on this. Hundreds of us will still be in Dallas Monday night for the
post-conference training institutes. Mike and Harriet will still be there -
they're presenting a full day of training that Monday on how to ramp up your
Community Marriage Policy in their first ever meeting of their CMP
leadership folks.

- SUSPICIOUS ABOUT AFFAIRS

Diane,
While I totally agree with Peggy Vaughan's advice, I would add this. Most
people who are having affairs do not come forth with the truth immediately
even if confronted directly.  They protect themselves first and lie.  Lying
is typically a big part of the infidelity cycle.  In fact, secrecy fuels the
affair.  I say this not to be the bearer of bad news, but because I have
seen so many people in my practice who ask the $64,000 question only to be
lied to and then have to sort out whether the response is real or not.  In
an effort to trust one's spouse, many of my clients ignored their gut
feelings, their instincts, intuition and worked real hard on themselves to
accept their partners' responses at face value.  On the surface of things,
this may not be a bad idea.  However, if the deceit continues and people
continue to deny, squelch, negate their God-given instincts, they pay an
unusally high price.  I've worked with many couples where the betrayed
spouse develops depression, anxiety, panic attacks and all sorts of physical
symptoms because of the effort it takes to turn away from the truth.  So,
nowadays, although I might encourage someone to ask direct questions, I also
coach them to trust their instincts, particularly if their instincts are
strong.  Then I help them figure out a plan of action factoring in what the
believe to be true of their spouses.
