- FREE RELATIONSHIP ENHANCEMENT TELECONFERENCE TRAINING: JUNE 14 9PM EST
The Significance of Mutual Love by Maryhelen (Mel) Snyder and Rob Scuka
Freud recognized that love was an essential component of any healing (or
nurturing) relationship. Explore how Relationship Enhancement skills and the
methods by which they are taught foster love and intimacy between couples
and family members. This is accomplished in part by the facilitator's
behavior in modeling the authenticity, transparency, non-judgmental
acceptance and empathy it is hoped family members will begin to experience
with each other as a form of mutual love.
To participate call 1-646-519-5800, PIN: 6307#. Unable to make the call?
Listen to a recording an Audiopodium by calling 1-918-222-7201, code 359
beginning on June 15. For call or audiorecording, your long distance charges
are your only cost.

- ON BECOMING A CERTIFIED FAMILY LIFE EDUCATOR
> Hi Diane,
> Just a quick note requesting more detailed information on how to become
> certified as a Certified Family Life Educator. You mentioned in a recent
> newsletter that I would need a transcript, vita, and someone associated with
> CFLE would interview applicants. Is this accurate? Should I bring the
> transcript & vita to Dallas in June? What do I need included on these
> documents (i.e.- specific approved CFLE course work, PREP Level III Training,
> etc.)?
> Greg Thiel
> Relationship Coach
I took this question to Dawn Cassidy. Here is her answer which I'm sure
many will find interesting:
Hi Greg! Thanks for your interest in the Certified Family Life Educator
(CFLE) designation. The ideal situation is for you to order the CFLE
Application Packet ($12 for non-members of NCFR) prior to coming to Dallas.
The application packet has all the forms and directions needed to apply. If
possible, complete the application as thoroughly as you can and submit that
to me in Dallas at the NCFR booth. I can then do a free preliminary review
of your application and let you know if there are any areas that need
strengthening or clarification. This will increase the likelihood that
everything is in order when you submit the application officially.
If that isn¹t possible you can bring your vita/resume and transcript with
you to Dallas and drop it off at the NCFR exhibit. I can still give you a
pretty good idea as to how close you are based on that information.
The application process involves documentation of your preparation and
experience in ten family life content areas. This includes academic
preparation, professional development and work experience. PREP training and
teaching would certainly be appropriate. While we don¹t require proof or
documentation for everything you list, you should provide some course
completion certificates, outlines, etc. More information on CFLE can be
found on the NCFR website at www.ncfr.org <http://www.ncfr.org/> where you
can also order the packet. Or you can contact me by phone or email.
