- FREE GRANT WRITING WORKSHOPS - HIGHLY RATED! LIMITED ENROLLMENT!

IYD (the Institute for Youth Development) has just announced its 2006 FREE
grant writing workshop schedule.

Urgent - get yourselves ready! When it comes to applying for the healthy
marriage initiative money, knowing how to write a grant application is as
important as knowing how to provide the services. Some of you missed the
last round of FREE Grant Writing workshops, so here is early notice of the
new schedule. Even if you've sent one person from your initiative, send
another. Depth on the bench! There will be lots of grants announced this
year and the winning grants receive scores of 100 - you can't be half good
at grant writing and win an award.

Even if you think you might not be interested, take the time. You might
change your mind after attending the grant-writing training, decide to go
for it.

The workshops are excellent. Julie Baumgardner of First Things First
Chattanooga attended and said "It was top-notch, wonderful, practical,
easy-to-understand and extremely helpful."

And, they're FREE BUT are LIMITED to the first 100 applicants.
So, get registered NOW. For the schedule, go to:

In Sept 2005, IYD received $1.5 million for the next 17 months "to provide
technical assistance AND GRANTS to faith- and community-based organizations
seeking to both strengthen their services to underserved populations and
navigate the often difficult federal funding process." That means IYD will
spend part of the $1.5 million to subsidize these 12 grant-writing workshops
and will also award grants for capacity building for community-based
organizations.

IYD has been the largest grantee under the President¹s Compassion Capital
Fund Program, and in the past has made a total of 131 sub-awards totaling
over $4.2 million that range between $5,000 and $50,000. In 2005, IYD
awarded over $1.2 million in 32 grants. The grants were for capacity
building assistance to support youth development, healthy marriages and
families, and HIV prevention programs.
