- CONFERENCE PROGRAM:
This is a big day. The entire Smart Marriages conference program is now
posted on the web site. Workshops, seminars, keynotes, banquet and training
institutes!

- APPLICANTS TO PRESENT:
If you submitted an application to present and you are NOT on the presenters
list, we're sorry. It means you didn't make it this year. There were
hundreds of great submissions that didn't make it - that we wish we'd had
room for - so many good ones!

I also regret that this is how you hear the news. I am the only one here -
no staff. I wish I had the time to enter all the applicants in a data base
and then notify each of you individually.

Clearly interest, ideas and innovative programs are exploding. We've added
one workshop per time frame, but still had to turn many applicants down.
Also, some of you submitted way too late. Please realize that applications
are due by Oct 10th each year.

Also, please realize that there is a requirement applicants must attend at
least one conference before being accepted to teach - to be presenters.

To see the workshops, seminars, and the list of presenters go to:
http://www.smartmarriages.com/conferencedetails.html
Then click any of the following links
:
Presenter Index, Institutes, Workshops, Seminars, Keynotes, and Program At a
Glance.

(***PLEASE NOTE: If you bookmarked these Conference pages last year,
clicking on the links may still bring up last year's program. Please
hit the RELOAD or REFRESH button to see the 2003 listings. You'll know
you're on the right page if it says "2003 Conference" at the top. This can
cause terrible confusion - if you're looking at last year's program and
think it's this year's.)

It is a fantastic program. I've already received several emails in the few
hours it's been posted, saying it is the best conference ever. We are
very excited.

- BROCHURES and REGISTRATION forms:

It is not yet possible to register for the conference. We're working on
printing and mailing the conference brochures and registration forms. You'll
have those by the first week in March. We're also working on a new on-line
registration form. We've switched registration companies, and they promise
it will be posted on-line, also, by the first week in March. I'll notify
the list as soon as it's available.

However all the registration prices and info are posted now on the web site
- full conference ($310), daily rate, training institutes, banquet, and
couple, group and student discounts, etc.

We're printing 200,000 conference brochures. If you have attended a Smart
Marriages conference or if you received the purple postcard mailed
in October asking you to save the Reno dates, you ARE already on the mail
list. PLEASE don't send your address again. If you're not sure, that's OK.

If you are on this e-newslist and have not sent us your "snail mail" postal
mailing address, we don't have it. Send us your address if you want to
receive a brochure.

- BROCHURES BY THE CARTON:
I can send bulk shipments of brochures to distribute to colleagues and
at conference, presentations, etc.

Let me know how many to ship and the ADDRESS to which I should ship them. A
brochure handed out by an enthusiastic coalition member always has about ten
times the impact of a brochure "cold mailed" to a purchased list. And/or,
if you have a mail list you're willing to donate, please let me know asap.

There are 200 brochures per carton. Let me know if you want a carton, or if
you want 5 or 10 or 50 brochures. Whatever. You can start with a few, and
work your way up.

- HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
It's a beautiful hotel and it's nice to stay at headquarters, so PLEASE call
TODAY and reserve your room. Some room categories are already full and
unavailable - see below. Once it's full, I can't help you except to help
you find a room at another hotel.

The Nugget Hotel is the location of all conference events. Call 800-648-1177
and ask for the "Smart Marriages Conference Rate" - and know which
conference rate you want. (see below).

>From outside the country, call 775-356-3300 or FAX: 775-356-4258, Attention:
Reservations. Or, email group reservations at: groupresv at janugget.com

We have a range of special conference hotel rates, all in the Nugget Complex
and all with full use of all Nugget Hotel facilities including large indoor
pool & Jacuzzis, exercise room, spa, game arcade, airport shuttle, free
Rodeo shuttle, etc. The Nugget also has eight award-winning restaurants and
a showroom and casino.

$85 Tower Rooms. Deluxe rooms, all with a view of the Sierra Nevada
Mountains. King or two queen beds, large restrooms, cable television,
Spectravision Movies, high speed modem access, 24 hr room service, coffee
makers, blow dryers, centrally located.

$65 Courtyard. The 5-story Courtyard building is adjacent to the Nugget
towers - it's approximately a two minute walk to the Courtyard from the
Nugget. Comparable to a Quaility or Holiday Inn. King or 2 Queen beds.
Cable TV with Spectravision movies. 24 hr room service. Morning coffee in
lobby. Has its own small outdoor pool plus full use of Nugget Hotel pool and
facilities.

$35 Roof Top Garden. These are sold out - I'm trying to get more this week.
So, if you want one of these rooms, stay tuned. These are smaller, more
Spartan rooms in the Nugget Hotel, without windows, that are often reserved
by tour groups. Two double or 2 twin beds - be sure to specify. Each room
with private bathroom and shower. You don't have to go outside to reach your
room - The Roof Top Garden is part of the Nugget Hotel building. Full use of
all Nugget Hotel facilities except room service. Morning coffee in the Roof
Top Garden lobby.

All the above are single/double rates. Add 11% room tax and $3 a night
Energy tax per room/per night. $10 additional per extra person/per night.

If the hotel tells you the conference rate is sold out for any of the above
rates, ask them on WHICH dates the rate is still available. They will not
volunteer that information. You have to ask. They are probably only sold
out on the "shoulder dates".
