- TRISTA AND RYAN

> Someone should write ABC about the "Trista & Ryan" fiasco that shows them
> spending upwards of a million dollars on everything for the wedding EXCEPT
> relationship training.
> Jennifer Cronk

I haven't been watching, but several of you have suggested this as a great
place to make our point. Contact ABC at netaudr at abc.com - or, the show's
website is at http://abc.go.com/primetime/wedding/ and they do have a
message board. On the site, click Message Board in upper left corner.

I hear the couples has been on Oprah, GMA, etc. They could be wonderful
ambassadors. If you email abc, copy me. - diane

- FREE ON-LINE MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSE
Saying "I Do": Consider the Possibilities

Utah State University Cooperative Extension Service, in conjunction with the
Governor's Commission on Marriage and the Utah Department of Workforce
Services has created the ONLY completely free internet-based premarital
education course in the USA that is sponsored by a major university. The
on-line marriage preparation and enhancement course, Saying "I Do": Consider
the Possibilities, is available to the public free of charge and can be
accessed by going to the Governor's Marriage Commission website located at
www.utahmarriage.org. (***Note: FOR USER ID use: marriageprep and FOR
PASSWORD use: guest.)

The purpose of the course is to provide instruction, resources, skills,
and hope to couples considering marriage or those interested in
strengthening their marriage.

Research shows that couples who participate in marriage preparation or
strengthening courses tend to communicate better, solve problems more
effectively, and report better relationships than those couples who do not.
In short, marriage education makes for a stronger marriage. It is also
hoped that Saying "I Do": Consider the Possibilities will provide
opportunities for couples who may not otherwise have access to a class.

This course was designed and based on research conducted with married
couples and addresses the issues that newlywed couples struggle with most
often such as finances, employment, communication, conflict, commitment,
personal interests and expectations, and sexual relations are discussed.
