Yes, peers in health settings are called "Community Health Workers".     I would encourage you to go to HRSA.gov for more information.   The CIHS is working on a training for community health workers, but it is not ready for distribution just yet.   We will post information on that training as soon as it is available.

Attached is one of the most recent publications on peer support services research by Dr. Judith Cook at the University of Illinois in Chicago; though it does not have a specific  outcome survey it documents the latest research that used various evaluation tools and may be helpful.
