The VA has some of the best research on PTSD and homelessness. The Portland VA also has an integrated Tertiary Pain clinic and has a lot of data. However, I don't think they have written anything yet, but they would be a useful resource. Contact the Anesthesia department and they can direct you to the director, Dr. Dogra. Website is http://www.visn20.med.va.gov/Portland/index.asp.

I'm working on a newsletter and presentation on topics related to integrated care for homeless people - one focus area will be on the impact of trauma on substance abuse and/or mental illness in this population. Does anyone have any advice on resources or other relevant topics? I'm also interested in seeing how PTSD and chronic pain interact and influence opiate or other substance use, and how ithat combination influences other physical or psychiatric conditions.

Thanks
