POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP
IN PRIMARY CARE PSYCHOLOGY
The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health of the University of Massachusetts Medical School announces its Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology. This is a two-year, full time, training and service experience designed to prepare clinical and counseling psychologists to work in the clinical service and training settings associated with primary medical care. The fellowship training is affiliated with the Family Medicine Residency Programs of the Department. We are presently recruiting candidates for the Fellowship for 2008. Fellows do clinical work as primary care behavioral health clinicians, provide consultation to faculty and resident physicians, help in the training of residents (who in turn help train the fellows) and participate in the training of outside behavioral health clinicians through our Certificate Program in Primary Care Behavioral Health. We are looking for people with experience in primary care psychology, behavioral medicine skills, and family therapy skills. Bi-lingual, English/Spanish is greatly preferred. We cannot accept a candidate who will not have completed their doctoral program by the start of the Fellowship. (We start July 1, but can postpone to Sept 1 if necessary.)
Past fellows have gone on to leadership positions in the field of integrated primary care and Family Medicine education.
For a description of the Fellowship to: http://www.integratedprimarycare.com/post_doctoral_fellowship.htm.
To apply, send a letter of interest and CV and have three letters of reference sent to: blounta at ummhc.org. Applications close Feb. 15, though we reserve the right to hire before that date to secure the right candidate.
