I have just been informed by Barbara Keeton from APA Division 38 that
the Health and Behavior code listserve, which focuses on the financing
of integrated care, is open to non APA members. There is no cost. A
current project for example, is identifying regional medicare carriers
policy differences about the issue of whether patients with a history
of or presently with a psychiatric diagnosis is eligible for use of the
H&B codes, even if the treating problem hs a medical diagnosis which is
the focus of treatment Anyone who wishes to be enrolled on the
listserv should send a message to Barbara Keeton (apadiv38 at verizon.net)
with their name and preferred email address.

Primary Care
To people interested in Integrated Primary Care:
I want to recommend that you have a look at the website of the
ICARE Partnership in North Carolina. http://www.icarenc.org/
<http://www.icarenc.org/> The initials stand for the type of healthcare
they are promoting: "We are partners in creating a healthcare system
that is Integrated, Collaborative, Accessible, Respectful and
Evidence-Based." It is funded by North Carolina sources interested in
promoting health and guided by a partnership between a number of leading
health organizations in North Carolina, including the NC Academy of
Family Physicians, the NC Pediatric Society, the NC Psychiatric
Association and the NC Psychological Association. I think it is a
ground-breaking alliance, worth promoting and disseminating.
