Hi Judith,
A question for you and others regarding primary care services in
Behavioral Health Settings. Have you started to implement the
recommendations that came out last October from the American Psychiatric
Association and the American Diabetes Association regarding the research
on second generation antipsychotic medications and relationship to
diabetes? They have recommended a specific monitoring protocol for
patients on SGAs (see Diabetes Care, vol 27, number 2, February 2004). I
think this will required substantial changes in most medication
monitoring programs--has anyone started implementation yet? Barb Mauer

Hi All,
We are working on an integration project geared specifically for SPMI.
We have embedded primary care in the behavioral health setting. We are
partnering with Boston University to go after some funding to expand
this project. Any literature or leads on money would be appreciated.
thanks. JB
