I don't think it is apropriate to say that Mordechai Vananunu has
been "released", at least not in the normal sense of the word. Though
he of course was released from his long prison term, and the
extremely harsh and inhuman conditions of isolation he was enduring
there. But today in Israel he still can't speak freely to foreigners
or move abroad which he oftentimes stated that he want.
He can therefore, at least in my opinion and as we speak, not be
considered to be living as any free man inside the state Israel.
