Well, whatever the details, I think a couple of good take home
messages are:

1) Don't forget where your loyalty lies.  If it's with the US, don't be
passing secrets to someone else.  Period.  Even if it seems like a good
idea at the time.

2) If you want to betray your country, don't get caught.

3) If you want to betray your country and get caught, don't be an
embarrassment.

The arguments in favor of Pollard seem to boil down to:

1) They were itsy bitsy secrets.

2) It's OK to betray the US as long as it's to a nominal ally.

3) It's OK to betray the US if it causes embarrassment to the US.

I'm not sure I find any of these particularly persuasive.
