Before hiring, accused FBI/White House spy Leandro Aragoncillo would
have been required to pass a pre-employment polygraph examination that
includes the following questions: 1) Do you know anyone who is engaged
in espionage or sabotage against the United States? 2) Have you
intentionally mishandled any classified information? 3) Have you had any
unauthorized foreign contacts?
Presumably, Aragoncillo passed while answering these questions
deceptively. His polygraph results would also have been subject to
"quality control" by the FBI HQ polygraph unit, so this cannot be
written off as the simple failure of a single polygraph operator.
Rather, it is the failure of a pseudoscientific procedure that the
National Academy of Sciences found to be completely invalid.
