Research on Intelligence Analysis

I have been doing some research on intelligence analysis for a large
research paper (due in about 7 months). There are plenty of
bibliographies and secondary sources available on the subject, but I
would like some advice on workable topics. I would like to focus on the
history of analytic methodology, organization (personalities and
bureaucracy), and events highlighting problems/issues with analysis. The
focus would be on American intelligence. So far, this seems to be a
daunting task....

I'm familiar with Sherman Kent's work and am leaning towards the
topic of strategic warning (well covered by Richard Betts). I am open to
all suggestions.

       Thanks.
