Title: The Poltava Affair: The Secret World War II Operation That
Foreshadowed the Cold War
Author: "Infield, Glenn B."
Description: "Account of Operation Frantic Joe, the only major attempt at
US/Soviet Union co-operation. US bombers were to take off from England and
bomb strategic targets in Eastern Germany and on Soviet bases and return to
England. After seven torturous months of negotiating during which Stalin
traded top-secret intelligence for his participation, the first mission was
launched, however Soviet air defences were incapable of preventing Luftwaffe
attacks destroying sixty US bombers on the ground at the poltava base, the
author belives he has found evidence Stalin deliberatly allowed the
Luftwaffe attack. Heavy rubbing and tape reinforcement to DJ edges. A
photograph of this book is available on request. "
