The Cold War International History Project invites you to a CWIHP Washington
seminar on
"The Rise and Fall of the Brezhnev Doctrine in Soviet Foreign Policy,"
featuring Matthew J. OUIMET (Department of State), author of "The Rise and
Fall of the Brezhnev Doctrine in Soviet Foreign Policy." (2003)
Comments will be provided by Charles GATI, Senior Adjunct Professor of
European Studies and FPI Fellow at SAIS, and author, "The Bloc That Failed"
(1990) and "Hungary and the Soviet Bloc" (1986);
and
Raymond GARTHOFF, Senior Fellow, The Brookings Institution and author of
"The Great Transition" (1994) and most recently "A Journey through the Cold
War" (2002).
Date/Time: January 29, 2003, 3:30-5 PM
Place: Woodrow Wilson Center, 5th floor conference room. A small reception
will follow the panel. Books will be available at the meeting.
