Phil:

CT's (Cryptologic Technicians) have always been at this facility,( it's more
of a NASA installation now than anything else) since 1967 when "The Gap"
first came to existence. Last time I was there was 1993 - 1994 on a DIRSUPP
mission which involved ANZAC as well as HRH Royal Navy personnel. Australia
was always looked upon as a "Twilight Duty" station for those of us in
COMNAVSECGRU and NSA employment. But Pine Gap isn't considered all that good
of a duty station for it's locale far from most civilization. The Melbourne
unit that is run out of the US Embassy there is a lot better...it's reserved
for higher ranked enlisted personnel that are about to retire from service.
It is truly a "Twilight Duty" station....love them Australian women. Love
the forum, love the Intel...keep up the good work.
