Tim,

Some of us spent the better part of a decade working in the community
before turning to journalism. You would do well to take a lesson that I
learned a while back, which is to never pre-judge somebody you do not know
personally because often you find out later that their resumes make quite
interesting reading...  I can't say that is the case with these NYT
reporters, but I can't say that it isn't either.

Why are so many journalists covering complex issues like intelligence,
military affairs and foreign affairs little more than turnips falling off
a dump truck?

Don't look for the journalistic amateurs to find the stories behind these
interesting matters.
