Spying for Liberia

On the contrary, she was a CIA ops officer by the name of Scranich. I know:
she was assigned to my Embassy and for reasons totally unconnected to her
espionage, I objected to her assignment.  I wish I had kept the "Eyes Only"
cable from Casey seeking to override my objections in which she was
described in glowing terms.  She was arrested and convicted for spying for
Ghana (or was it Liberia,) but in fact, we also discovered plans for her to
be "turned over" to a Soviet handler in the country where I was serving.
