    I'm reading a fascinating book right now which may be of some use.  It's

You Can't Fight Tanks With Bayonets: Psychological Warfare Against the
Japanese Army in the Southwest Pacific, by Allison B. GIlmore.

    Never seen anything else on this subject.  A big part of the book
concerns the development of effective propaganda and different strategies
that could be used: Big Lie v.s. Truth-based, etc.
