The Lie Behind the Lie Detector

I find this an interesting debate, in my discussions over the years with
members of our polygraph experts, the best have maintained consistently that
a polygraph requires a detailed analysis and background check of the
interviewee, and can only show whether a statement or person is possibly
credible or not, it is not the be all and end all. While polygraphs have
their place in our intelligence community, they must be preceeded by a
thorough screeing of the individual - and then interviewed to determine
credibility, I leave you with the following :
"If I believe that a lie is in fact the truth, if I tell that truth - is it
still a lie"
