Who knows? AFAIK, their basic sin seems to be that they got caught doing
something in current disfavor. Perhaps they were also committing some
serious crime, but that's yet to come out.
The only vaguely interesting -- though not very surprising -- thing my
feelers have returned is that the SISes who ran the "chat room" are being
lightly whacked; the firees are likely to be the GS-15s and below. The
Chinese Embassy bombing comes to mind as a previous example of how it's
better to be over than under.
Few people in Ur would have had any trouble understanding these present
events.
So is it now, so has it been, so shall it be, world without end.
